Katie Jean Mahon– Owner/Lead Planner

I’m the owner and lead planner of Katie Jean Events, proudly based in Charleston, South Carolina. Born and raised in Charleston, this city is not only my home but also the heart of my inspiration. Since founding my business in 2014, I’ve had the privilege of building lasting relationships with some of the area’s most talented vendors—connections that bring immense value to every celebration I plan.

My journey in the wedding and events industry has taken me coast to coast, shaping my experience and perspective along the way. I attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville and began my career at one of the Southeast’s most renowned venues, The Biltmore Estate. During my seven years there, I had the opportunity to coordinate and assist with a wide range of events—from elegant weddings to large-scale corporate and holiday celebrations. At the Inn on Biltmore Estate, I worked closely with couples throughout their planning process, from tastings and rehearsal coordination to the seamless execution of each reception, collaborating with talented teams of officiants, musicians, florists, and culinary professionals. This is where I knew I wanted to do more!

Eager to expand my experience, I continued my journey in Breckenridge, Colorado, where I worked with Vail Resorts in their banquet department. There, I assisted in executing large-scale weddings and corporate events, further refining my ability to manage complex logistics with ease and precision.

Bringing that experience back to Charleston has truly been a dream come true. This city offers an incredible community of skilled professionals, and I’m honored to be a part of it. At Katie Jean Events, we offer partial and full-service planning packages—each designed to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for our couples.

Originally from Belgium and raised in the South, Stefany brings a unique blend of European refinement and Southern warmth to every celebration she designs. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a degree in Public Relations with a minor in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management — an educational foundation that perfectly complements her eye for detail and passion for hospitality.

Now a proud Charleston local for the past fourteen years, Stefany has spent the last decade planning refined, thoughtfully curated weddings throughout the Lowcountry. Her deep knowledge of the Charleston market, trusted vendor relationships, and understanding of elevated Southern entertaining allow her to create seamless, beautifully orchestrated events.

Known for her calm presence and meticulous attention to detail, Stefany manages every element behind the scenes — from aesthetic design and vendor collaboration to timeline execution and flawless coordination. Her approach blends organization with artistry, ensuring each celebration unfolds effortlessly.
